Semi-rigid wood fibre batts for walls, ceilings and floors. Vapour open, so they let a wall dry instead of trapping moisture, and they're dense enough not to slump in the frame. Passive House certified, non-irritating to handle and recyclable.Only 90mm is held in stock; other thicknesses are special order with about a 3-month lead time. No Queensland depot, so allow for freight. Costs well above glasswool.

Thermally bonded polyester with up to 85% recycled fibre and no binders or glues. Non-irritant, so no itchy fibres in the roof space or the house, and low VOC. Good Environmental Choice Australia certified.It's plastic: inert and itch-free, but it won't buffer moisture like wool or wood fibre. Check the R-value per thickness against glasswool before you swap.
